The Paradox of the Weak Defending and Protecting the Strong
The human society is laced with numerous absurdities that are often seen as normal but in the real sense, makes no sense at all.
One of these absurdities is the irony or perhaps, paradox of the weak protecting and fighting for the strong.
In the human society, some people are revered as strong, mighty and powerful, but when danger lurks around, it’s usually the weak ones that are expected to stand and fight for the strong and defend them.
For instance, in the Army, the General or Field Marshall is adjudged the strongest, most powerful and most experienced of all soldiers.
Ironically, this STRONGEST, MOST POWERFUL and MOST EXPERIENCED soldier is to be protected by Privates or Corporals who are neither experienced nor seen as most powerful.
The weak soldiers are tasked with guarding the strong general and ensure nothing happens to him, instead of the strong and most experienced general being the one to guard the weak inexperienced general.
But the military is only but a tip of the iceberg.
What about Political Leaders who are adjudged the most powerful in the country? Yet somehow, are being guarded by relatively weak and unknown people?
Think of Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden. They are adjudged the most powerful men in the world, yet they depend on unknown weak soldiers and secret service agents to protect them.
But the politicians’ cases are even more reasonable. With them, you can argue the concept of power and different kinds of power.
What about religion?
Religion is usually established on the foundation of an all powerful supreme being who is in firm control of the entire universe, and then his loyal subjects who are tasked with obeying him and doing his will.
However, these gods in various religions, not minding how powerful and invincible they are believed to be, depend heavily on their weak worshippers to defend them.
Throughout history, there has always been various practical cases where weak followers go to a full-blown war to defend and fight for their powerful gods, but there is yet to be a clear event where the strong gods went to war to fight for their weak worshippers.
The Catholics formed nights and led the crusades in medieval times to fight for their god. Conversely, the Catholics have been dealt with several times by other forces of man and nature, but not once did their strong god rise to fight for them the weak and unworthy worshippers.
Catholics have endured prosecution, been massacred in various instances, trampled upon by Jihadists, Colonialists, Pirates, Vikings, Terrorists, thieves, even the pope was assassinated. Not once did their strong god fight for them nor defend them.
It’s not any different from Muslims. They are constantly under severe persecution. In Palestine, Israelis bomb them for fun. In North Africa, America use their homeland as battlefield for economic exploitation.
The Muslims rise up every now and then to defend their powerful gods through a jihad. Sometimes, terror groups emanate from there, yet, not once has their gods risen up to fight for them, even against ordinary natural disasters like flood, earthquakes, etc.
Recently in Nigeria, a popular native doctor was kidnapped and his innocent security men were brutally murdered. As at the time of this publication, he is still in the custody of the evil men. Yet, his gods are yet to rise up and fight for him. At the end, it will still be the security agencies that would come to his rescue.
Put this side by side with a different scenario, if it was his shrine that was attacked and his gods whisked away. Would he rest until the perpetrators are brought to book? Your guess is as good as mine.
My intention of writing this post is not to challenge your faith, but to bring you at per with reality, which is that you are more powerful than you think.
If the strong depend on the weak for protection, then the weak might not be weak after all, and the strong might not be strong after all.
You can see it as a systemic conditioning of your mind to take away your true strength, submit it to a supposed more powerful entity and replace what was taken away with fear and reverence.
It’s upto you to decide whether you would like to free yourself from the systemic conditioning or you love your current state. My job is to make you see this reality.
