Is APC about to collapse?
Let’s trace back to where PDP’s downfall started
It appears like PDP’s downfall started with Lack of Internal Democracy
But in reality it started with Rivers State Politics
Specifically with Rotimi Amechi, Nyesom Wike and Patience
Rivers State Politics is as Dangerous as it is Delicate.
Amaechi had already exiled Wike out of Rivers State by nominating him for Minister
Wike wanted to be Governor.
Amaechi wanted to be Vice President or Senate President
He needed to gain national relevance
To do that, he contested for the Chairmanship of Nigerian Governors Forum and won
Wike was aligned with Patience Jonathan, the President’s wife.
They didn’t want Amaechi to have that kind of power
They took away Amaechi’s Victory and gave it to Gov. Jonah Jang.
Amaechi protested, and with other PDP Governors, they formed the NewPDP
That was in 2013 when APC was completing it’s merger.
The NewPDP Moved into APC with 5 Governors, including Kwakwanso
That move gave instant legitimacy to APC and a wave of defections followed.
The rest, they say, is history.
Today, in the APC
Similar trajectory is being established starting from Rivers State
Will the quarrel between Wike and Fubara end like the one in 2013?
Is APC’s implosion about to begin?
