SAME PAIN, DIFFERENT REACTIONS

Why Nigerians Seem Comfortable with Rising Cost of Fuel

SAME PAIN, DIFFERENT REACTIONS

Fuel is now 1,500 naira and Nigerians are not protesting

When Jonathan removed subsidy in 2012 and the price of fuel rose from 65 naira to 145 naira, Nigeria went in flames.

There was OccupyNigeria protest for two weeks straight until Jonathan was forced to bring it down to 87 naira.

Tinubu met fuel at 200 naira and took it to 1,500 naira, yet people are still campaigning for him.

He is not even defending himself in the media. In fact, he is not even in the country. He's enjoying his vacation.

People can't understand why it is so.

That's what I want to explain to you.

The reason begins and ends with one wordf;

MOBILIZATION

People don't act or react because they are pained.

They don't protest because they are affected.

They don't get angry because they are offended.

And they don't vote because they want to.

They do these things because someone INTENTIONALLY made them do it.

The act of getting a large number of people to adopt a particular opinion or point of view and act on it in a very specific kind of way, is called MOBILIZATION

Prior to January 2012, when subsidy was removed, Tinubu and other opposition leaders knew it was going to happen and they cashed in on it.

Same way I have monitored Peter Mbah's policies, detected the ones that will fail and when they will fail, and now patiently waiting to cash in on it.

Tinubu had the Newspapers, Televisions, TV Stars, Labour Unions, trade unions, public affairs analysts, musicians and celebrities.

He had them all ready.

Sowore's Sahara Reporters was their online powerhouse.

The hashtag was ready. Banners printed Hand bills readied Interviews scheduled.

It was like, On your Marks... Get ready... Go....!!!

Katakata everywhere.

It wasn't random.

At that time, most Nigerians didn't even know the meaning of subsidy.

They were simply mobilized.

And it became what everyone was talking about

And because it was what everyone was talking about, it became fashionable to hate Jonathan.

Educated folks started attacking Jonathan. Till today, they can't clearly explain why they were really against Jonathan or why they chose illiterate Buhari over him.

When you ask them, they become defensive.

That's what Mobilization does.

Nigerians are keeping quiet now, simply because there is nobody to mobilize them.

Neither Peter Obi nor Article is willing to mobilize people to the streets.

Neither Peter Obi nor Atiku is willing to hire Media Professionals, Sponsor Trade and Labour Unions, mobilize Journalists and public affairs analysts, contract celebrities and movie stars.

None of them is willing to mobilize.

Peter Obi seems to be the person in the best position to do this because a lot of people are already tilting towards him.

But no one will move until he moves them.

And you don't move people with mouth.

You move them with money. Real money.

As at that time, it was alleged that Sahara Reporters were paid 300 million naira. 300 million naira when dollar was 150 naira to a dollar. When money had value.

That's the kind of money you need to do some real mobilization.

The one that happened, didn't happen on it's own.

People made it happen.

And one of Tinubu's men and former Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi admitted that clearly in a recent video.

Therefore, in politics, anything that is moving, has something that is moving it.

That thing moving it is called MOBILIZATION.

And when you see something that is supposed to be moving but it is docile, inactive and not moving, just know that there is no mobilization.

If anyone mobilizes Nigerians tomorrow, Nigeria will be occupied, everywhere will be shutdown and fuel prices will go down. It's that simple.

If no one mobilizes Nigerians, people won't do anything even if fuel becomes 10k per liter.
