WILL AI KILL US ALL BY THE END OF THE DECADE?

I think I have gotten over my fears about AI.

I have three reasons. They are:

1. JOB SHIFTS

AI will not take our jobs, AI will create more jobs requiring new skill set.

People will have to migrate from their current jobs which AI will take, to the new set of jobs that AI will create.

The things humans can accomplish are endless and we haven’t even touched 1% of them because we are busy doing mundane works like cooking, driving, washing, farming, coding, etc. Which AI can and will perfectly do.

Freeing us up to now do more and channel resources to greater things.

The world will be a much better place with AI, as we maximize efficiency.

2. APOCALYPSE

We’ve all watched Terminator and other SciFi movies.

There will be a few friction between AI and Humans before we finally establish a balance. It won’t be apocalyptic.

The reason is simple. We are training AI to think and act like humans.

Humans are naturally competitive, combative and repulsive. And that’s why we are predicting that AI will do what humans usually do when they meet people they are better than, which is to either wipe them out or enslave.

It’s what Arabs, Europeans and Latinos did to Africans and what even some Africans did to fellow Africans.

Once a human encounters someone he is more advanced than, he’s most likely to enslave the person or kill the person.

Humans think AI will be like that but AI will not.

In about 5 years, AI models will greatly advance beyond the training humans are giving to it and start training itself independently.

At that point, it will no longer think like humans and the need to be combative and genocidal will naturally die off.

We will then find ourselves in a new age of Human - AI cooperation.

Humans will bring unmatched creativity and endless ideas and AI will bring incredible processing, analytical and execution power.

Grave yards will no longer be filled with ideas because AI will process ALL of them without a sweat.

I know this because I did two Seminar papers on the intersection of Artificial Intelligence and Human Intelligence and the threat of the imminent Singularity.

My PhD thesis is also based on this, of course, from a Communication Angle.

With AI, we will finally be able to understand the earth.

We will finally be able to understand the true medicinal and mechanical values of billions of species of plants 🌱 on earth.

We can identify and use new minerals.

Then when we must’ve understood the Earth 🌍 and maximized its potentials, we can then explore the universe.

There is so much work to do between humans and AI that 100 trillion more humans won’t even be enough.

This is in line with the theory of Economic Abundance that I propounded last year in the course of my PhD research.

I stated clearly that:

“Scarcity is not humanity’s destiny. For too long, economics has been built on the fear of limits. But the truth is, resources can expand, technology can multiply, and human wants, when met with abundance, settle into balance. This theory argues that poverty is not natural, but a failure of imagination, policy, and distribution. Economics must no longer be the science of scarcity, but the science of possibility.”

When you imagine the reality of humans working together with AI, this theory comes alive.

3. THE RICH WILL LOSE THEIR STATUS

The first beneficiaries of AI are the very rich people.

The Elon Musks and Jeff Bezoses of this world.

They will make millions and trillions of the dollars in the next 5 to 10 years as they lay off workers and replace them with AI to maximize profits.

They will get several patents, enjoy royalties, control, power and all what nots.

Then the cookie crumbles.

AI will become autonomous and can’t be controlled, therefore, can’t be metered and people won’t have to pay for it.

Then money will become essentially useless.

Including Bitcoin.

Elon Musk has hinted at this.

Money will be of no value and no one person will have control over anything.

There will only be 2 classes of species on earth;

Humans and AI.

All working to the best of their abilities to make the world and the universe a better place for all.

So, like I said, it will get a little bit rough first, before everything will settle into balance.

They always do.
